Laaer Wald
Sunday, June 21, 2026 • 11:00 • Bus stop Theodor-Sickel-Gasse (68A, 68B)
This time our mindful hike starts at the Laaer Wald. We enjoy beautiful views over Vienna and continue
across fields to the Kurpark Oberlaa, and from there back across fields to the Central Cemetery, where we
will visit the Buddhist section with the stupa and the noble eightfold path.
During the mindful hike we have the opportunity to walk together in silence
and connect with the nourishing elements of nature. During rest breaks there is time for exchange.
Throughout the hike we practise various mindfulness practices from the Plum Village tradition of Zen
Master Thich Nhat Hanh: listening to the bell, second body, mindful communal eating, mindful sharing,
Dharma text, dwelling in nature and – when it feels right – communal singing.
No previous experience is necessary – only openness. The walking pace adapts to the group, and we
wait for each other.
